Anticipated squick factor 10, actual squick factor This was a heartbreaker of a tale at first Hunter and his younge Well, after rumours that this one had incest, I was a little apprehensive to say the least Hunter and his younger brother Kayden whose home life was dominated by a drunken, lazy and abusive father, and whose mum died of a heart attack when Kayden was 4.
Hunter had to assume the role of Kayden’s protector even though he was barely old enough to look after himself, he understood that looking after Kay was what his mum would have wanted him to do. The brothers survive barely and we pick up the story years later when Hunter is into women and Kayden is into men.
Most importantly of all, Kayden is in love with his brother and has been from the time he started taking notice of these things Hunter is hot, but Kay is obviously unable to confess to his brother what it is that is making him so unhappy and suicidal. I’ll leave this one here. View all 12 comments. Damn, it feels slightly wrong for saying this but God please let there be a book 2.

Kayden has to reconcile his love for Hunter that is more than brotherly and his jealous feelings toward Hunter’s new love. When Kayden meets Jacob, he learns how to own his feelings. This is another story that is out of comfort zone for a lot of folks, but if you are up for the challenge this book will give you a lot of insight into how abuse victims cope, how mixed up their feelings are, and in the end the possibility of happiness.
